P.J. Dick is looking for Concrete Laborers to join its growing Construction Services Group team.

PRIMARY FUNCTION:
Responsible for assisting in all aspects of daily work required for the placement of concrete for commercial building construction projects.
TYPICAL DUTIES:
- Assist the placing and finishing crews required to complete concrete placement of walls, foundations, large slab on grade and Slab on deck pours.
- Cleaning and maintenance of concrete placing and finishing equipment.
- Able to efficiently rake concrete behind a straight edge
- Able to set up and pull concrete hose and pipe during placements
- Proper vibration of concrete.
- Assist with the protection and curing of the finished concrete.
- Willingness to work different shifts and start times.
- Willingness to work overtime as required for the project
SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE, QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:
- High School Diploma or Equivalent;
- Must be able to evaluate information using measurable standards and effectively communicate verbally with co-workers and work with others in positive manner;
- Ability to read safety rules and instructions in the use and maintenance of equipment and tools;
- Must be able to follow specific instructions, adhere to all safety regulations and procedures and always work harmoniously and cooperatively with others;
- Must be willing to join the local laborers union.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORKING CONDITIONS
- Performing physical activities that require considerable use of your arms and legs and moving your whole body, such as climbing, lifting, balancing, walking, stooping, and handling of materials.
- Regularly required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
- Considerable time spent standing; using hands to handle control or feel objects, tools or controls.
- Job requires wearing common protective or safety equipment such as safety shoes, glasses, gloves, and hard hats;
- Frequently required to talk or hear. Vision abilities required include close and distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
- Occasionally required to sit. Must be able to occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds.
- Regularly exposed to outside weather conditions; extreme cold and heat, wet and/or humid conditions; moving mechanical parts; high and/or precarious places; exposure to fumes, airborne particles, and vibration; loud working environment
