Castle Builders Supply, a wholly owned subsidiary of The Lindy Group, Inc., is seeking Assistant Plant Managers for its concrete manufacturing plants in Aliquippa and Neville Island. This is an exciting opportunity to strategically support and improve day-to-day operations and provides the foundation for a career in manufacturing with increasing leadership and management responsibilities, and earnings potential!


Assists in the day-to-day plant operations by ensuring overall quality, safety, production and profitability.


  1. Work hands-on in all aspects of plant operations (including concrete batching, quality control testing and customer service) in order to coordinate concrete production
  2. Schedule and manage plant employees according to sales volume and maintenance schedules
  3. Assist Plant Manager with oversight of all equipment including trucks, loaders and batch plant
  4. Maintain inventory control, including scheduling of incoming inventory and maintaining accurate inventory counts
  5. Coordinate assigned work, approves personnel actions, trains and develops subordinate personnel and promotes harmonious labor-management relationships in accordance with Plant Manager approval.
  6. Applies knowledge of production methods, processes, equipment and production to ensure operating effectiveness and improve efficiencies. Revise production schedules and priorities as result of equipment failure or operating problems.
  7. Ensures that workers are supplied with tools, materials and equipment for completion of project. Assist in resolving plant problems (lack of productivity, work interfaces, etc.) as required.
  8. Monitor compliance with plant safety program requirements; document and ensure corrective measures are implemented.
  9. Fill out required internal and external reports
  10. Perform additional assignments per supervisor's direction.


Educational and experience requirements include: High school diploma or equivalent. An understanding of production methods, processes, supervision and the impact on construction activities is essential. Ability to multi-task and adapt/respond to rapidly changing priorities. Excellent analytical, problem-solving and decision-making skills. Good communication, interpersonal and supervisory skills required.


Position requires extended hours and an irregular schedule. Prior and progressive experience in ready-mix concrete production a plus. ACI Concrete Field Technician Grade 1 preferred.
