Assist Superintendent as directed in providing on-site administrative and technical management on construction project site. Responsible for coordinating with Project Managers, Project Engineers, subcontractors, and architects to ensure effective communication at all levels.


  1. Collect and track all potential changes on a project and report to the Superintendent with findings to ensure project is constructed in accordance with projected design, budget and schedule.
  2. Assist project engineers, project managers, etc. on an as needed basis for on-site functions (scheduling, engineering, material control).
  3. Coordinate with safety personnel on an as-needed basis.
  4. Assist the Superintendent in supervision of craft employees and/or other contractors as required by the contract.
  5. Assist Superintendent in developing and implementing project procedures, working documents, standards, etc.
  6. Provide technical assistance, i,e., interpretation of drawings, recommending construction methods and equipment, etc., as required.
  7. Ensure all on-site personnel comply with project procedures, safety program requirements, work rules, etc. Document all violations; notify project management, recommend/implement corrective actions as required.
  8. Assume responsibility for productivity of crafts, efficient use of materials and equipment, and contractual performance of the project.
  9. Communicate performance efficiency to estimating to identify bid unit problems and/or to ascertain work method contemplated in the bid.
  10. Continually monitor the schedule, cost report, and profitability of the work and initiate corrective action immediately when problems arise, must ensure that cost report and quantities are current at all times.
  11. Other duties as required to ensure success of assigned projects.
  12. Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.


Educational and experience requirements include: four-year engineering degree or equivalent combinations of technical training and/or related experience. General knowledge of all aspects of construction required (technology, equipment, methods, craft agreements, jurisdiction, negotiations, engineering, cost control, schedules, and safety). Excellent communication, organizational, and supervisory skills essential.


Reports to Superintendent and/or Project/General Superintendent.
