PRIMARY ROLE:
You will serve as the technical expert on a variety of complex applications and development work assignments using innovative solutions to solve business problems. You will be responsible for the entire life cycle of an application, ongoing maintenance and enhancements, integrations with other systems, and support for other software solutions.


TYPICAL DUTIES:

  1. Develop programming code and software modifications using appropriate languages and tools to provide responsive, creative solutions and new functionality in company-wide and/or complex specialized systems.
  2. Research and develop prototypes using company-specific selected products and technologies to demonstrate utility, productivity enhancements, and cost savings.
  3. Analyze user, system, and application needs; determine and evaluate potential solutions; develop system specifications and requirements; design applications to meet the requirements; conduct code review; and provide end user training as needed.
  4. Structure, implement, and maintain database systems; design integrated solutions with other applications and systems; and establish policies, standards, and procedures to ensure useful and readily accessible data.
  5. Write documentation to provide user support for programs and for production/operating procedures.
  6. Research current technical trends, emerging technologies, new software functionality, and alternative software solutions to evaluate applicability and viability at company.
  7. Attend conferences, webinars, and training sessions to maintain the knowledge and skills necessary for fulfilling the position requirements.


SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE, QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:

Required:

  • At least five years of applied experience in all phases of the application/solution development and delivery lifecycle including testing best practices (unit, functional, and end-to-end).
  • Demonstrated experience with JavaScript based frameworks.
  • Experience working with / developing APIs, SDKs, WMS.
  • Familiarity with backend data stores including building and understanding queries, developing and managing views, and understanding stored procedures/jobs.
  • Strong skills in creative problem solving and debugging.
  • Excellence in communicating with team members, supervisors, and users.
  • A portfolio of aesthetically pleasing and user-friendly work in UI/UX.

Preferred:

  • Experience using Material Design, Angular, Bootstrap, and Java.
  • SQL Server, HCL (formerly Lotus) Notes experience.
  • AWS/Azure web development, deployment, and security best practices.
  • Custom ESRI GIS application development (configuring, extending, and developing with numerous ESRI technologies) experience.
  • CI/CD, DevOps knowledge.
